Providing a space for cross-sectoral engagement, reflection and learning

A lot of the ‘soft’ work of Intercultural Dialogue is carried out through socio-culture. Diversity is a subject and a source of creativity in the arts.

This is why the Platform for Intercultural Europe was initiated by two organisations rooted in the cultural sector, and why the Platform’s membership is in large proportion made up of cultural organisations. Education and youth organisations work in closely related areas and are natural allies.

Yet, actors from these fields need the contact with activists and campaigners for minority rights, migrant inclusion, and anti-discrimination. The latter need avenues for mainstreaming their concerns, for carrying their work outside the confines of political advocacy into society. They also need new methods and tools to spread their messages.

The Platform for Intercultural Europe helps make these links, which can satisfy mutual needs.
